  The Sun is about 4.6 BILLION years old!!! The Universe is 13.8 billion years old, and our Sun is often called a second or third generation star because its made up of the leftovers of two or three other generation of stars (it’s a bit like our Sun is the grandchild of the first grandparent stars).
  
  Our Sun has about 5 billion years left before it runs out of hydrogen, gets bigger, eats the Earth and eventually dies.
