There’s a theory that if you get two particles to interact and make them “quantum entangled” then they are linked by a type of wormhole called an einstein rosen bridge.

If these wormholes do exist, maybe we can expand them and use them to travel across space (and time) on day!

If you mean a wormhole, as in you jump in one side, and come out the other somewhere else in space or time, then I don’t know. It would involve the ability to shape space and time itself. Ask again in a couple thousand years and we might know the answer.
Nicks answer about the Einstein Rosen bridge and quantum entanglement is more likely, but they wouldn’t be very far apart as far as I am aware, but my quantum mechanics is not that great.

The problem with creating a wormhole big enough for humans to jump through is that they require a lot of energy to build and we don’t have the means to contain it either! If you want to use it for travelling through space, you want it to be safe and that comes with all sorts of challenges.
I think we’re much closer to building an Einstein-Rosen bridge that Nick has mentioned but that will only work for one particle at a time to begin with – and a whole human has SO MANY particles that we’ll have to figure out how to keep them together in the right order as well as building the bridge..
